TEXO Recruitment have an exciting contract opportunity for a Project Planner to join us at our TEXO Engineering & Fabrication division for a Large Fabrication Project based in Dundee. The ideal candidate should have experience in scheduling, planning and resourcing of complex projects against demanding delivery times within the Energy Industry.

Purpose of the Role:

As a Project Planner you will work closely with the Project Manager and Project team to develop and maintain a detailed resource loaded schedule of this large fabrication project using the latest version of Microsoft Project. As Project Planner you will develop and maintain summary level schedule reports Gantt, PERT, milestone charts, and other programme management tools used to support critical path analysis, near-term tasks work authorisations, priority based resource allocations, performance variances and to support cost/schedule integration. Schedules are to be prepared to the required level of detail and accuracy in accordance with contractual requirements and TEXO policies, procedures and standards.

You will identify major milestones, decision points, project life-cycle and other project events. The Project Planner will troubleshoot and monitor potential scheduling problems. You will report on trends, forecasts, project contingency, and schedule risks and opportunities.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Review and maintain planning control structures, ensuring they are developed and maintained in alignment with approved project Work Breakdown Structure (WBS)
  • Review and maintain baseline project plans and schedule using appropriate scheduling software (Microsoft Project)
  • Liaise with cross functional teams as required, including third parties, to maintain awareness of project activities, their status, and their impact on the project schedule and manpower requirements
  • Monitor and assess schedule impact of change notifications
  • Monitor and review overall project progress status, achievement of major milestones, and evaluate project performance in relation to planned performance
  • Attend internal project progress and performance status meetings, as required
  • Liaise with management to ensure accurate and timely control and forecasting of man-hour budgets and ensure that the impact of all change requests are properly assessed and included in the schedules
  • Participate in schedule risk analysis as required
  • Participate and lead Project Controls Compliance and Continuous Improvement Reviews

Skills, Experience & Qualifications Required

  • Proven working experience as a Project Planner / Scheduler in large Projects, preferably Energy and or Fabrication based projects.
  • Advanced expertise in Microsoft Project
  • Advanced MS Office skills
  • knowledge of and the ability to apply a variety of schedule analysis and optimisation techniques (such as Critical Path analysis, schedule variance)
  • Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards
  • Ability to work with multiple discipline projects
  • Time management and organization skills

Duration

  • For Approximately 14 Weeks
  • 40hrs per week
  • Candidate will be based in a Project Office in Dundee Facility
  • Will require visits to Blyth and Aberdeen Facilities

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Salary: Up to £25.00 per hour
