Programme Manager Full Time

at Suffolk County Council Ipswich in Ipswich (Published at 01-02-2021)

£61,498 (pro rata for part time)

Fixed term/secondment 12 months (project)

In Suffolk we have a very strong ambition to transform home to school travel, ensuring that we have cost effective and efficient arrangements in place.

This is an exciting opportunity to take the Programme Management lead for the ongoing transformation of home to school travel services. As an experienced Programme Manager you will be expected to drive the planning, communication, progress, risk and issue management and realisation of our improvement plans as a result of a recent systems review. The role will report to the Project Board sitting across both Growth, Highways & Infrastructure and Children & Young People Directorates.

You will have an interest and awareness in the national and local policy arena for school travel, and importantly demonstrable experience of working effectively at leadership/board level. The post holder will be flexible, able to stay measured and objective in the face of competing pressures and complex system-wide organisational issues and be able to implement solutions and initiatives at pace.

This organisation positively encourages the use of technology to communicate and engage, but on occasions there may be a requirement for you to travel using reasonable and suitable means available to you and agreed by the authority.

Due to the current situation with Covid-19, we have strict limitations on staff working in our offices and most of us are being asked to work from home. If you wish to discuss how that might impact your working arrangements, please contact the recruiting manager listed below.

For an informal discussion only please contact Tina Hines on 01473 265183.

Interview date 25th February.
