Forecasting Planner Full Time

TUI Group is recruiting a Forecasting Executive to join the Inflight Supply Chain and Delivery team. Reporting to the Inventory and Forecasting Manager, this role will help to support the expanding remit of this specific function and build on the significant progress that has been achieved since it was introduced into the IFSC structure.



The role will include aid the effective management of inflight product (both retail and non-retail) required on board TUI flights across the Northern and Western regions. You will help to manage the flow of information between the IFSC Product team, our product suppliers, logistics partners and warehouses. You will play a part in ensuring the consistent availability of our on-board product ranges by managing seasonal forecasts and rolling sales forecasts for each source market. You will also be responsible for the accuracy of inventory across the supply chain.



Product availability on-board is critical to maximising revenue and customer satisfaction and therefore the Forecasting Executive will play a key role in ensuring the success of the operation by ensuring key information is available to be used by others in a timely and accurate manner.



This role can be based in our Luton, Brussels, Netherlands and Hannover office

How you will make an impact

There are many ways for you to get involved:



  • As the Forecasting Executive you will report directly to the Inventory and Forecasting Manager. You will play a key role in ensuring that the IFS function continues to focus on maximising availability, increasing revenue and improving margins. You will be involved in and will support the management of several key processes including Sales forecasting, Demand planning, Lead Logistics Provider (LLP) liaison and Inventory management

  • The role will involve meeting regularly with colleagues from the source markets to discuss and agree the forecasts that will be used by suppliers and supply chain partners to plan operations. You will help to produce a weekly stock keeping unit (SKU) forecast for each product area and for each market.

  • You will be required to produce weekly reporting with accurate and up to date data that will be used by a number of internal and external stakeholders to help ensure that IFSC delivers the optimal combination of high availability with minimal stock holding. This will involve developing, sharing and discussing the latest forecasts with Bonds and Suppliers and therefore good communication skills are required plus the ability to forge strong working relationships with external partners.

  • You will work closely with IFS colleagues in the Product team and in particular the Category Managers, Merchandising Manager and the Product and Catering Managers. There will be a strong focus on effective planning and forecasting to improve promotional margin. You will also maintain a forecast accuracy % for each product category by source market and for each product category by Bond in line with the targets agreed and set between the F&I Manager and IFS Product team.

  • You will share key commercial information with suppliers in order to provide accurate and up to date forecasts and also act as the single point of contact for any supplier queries. The role will be responsible for raising orders with suppliers and also working with them to ensure that Supplier Delivery Accuracy (SDA) is above the agreed weekly and monthly targets. You will also investigate outstanding deliveries to minimise the impact on product availability.

  • The Forecasting Executive will also have a direct working relationship with Bond operators and Last Mile handlers to optimise the forecasting and ordering process. You will also work closely with the LLP and 3PL?s operating the centralised warehouse to optimise inventory levels, raise base level orders for warehouse processing, reduce stock holding, and minimise stock loss.

  • This role will deputise for the Forecast and Inventory Manager when required and also be involved in other projects and stock related tasks as and when required.

  • Experience in a Retail Supply Chain or FMCG environment would be preferable

  • Experience of forecasting and demand planning

  • Expert of managing and analysing complex data in a Supply Chain environment

  • Good commercial acumen and sound judgement

  • Excellent attention to detail, organised and determined to succeed

  • Strong internal and external stakeholder engagement and communication skills

  • Flexibility to travel throughout Europe on a regular basis

  • Fluent in written and spoken English

  • Ability to speak another language (French, Dutch or German) would be advantageous
