Edward Williams Furniture Ltd. is a bespoke joinery manufacturer and installations company, successful at delivering sophisticated innovative Joinery services, offering design solutions, to create functional workplace environments. The company takes pride in the commercial and corporate sectors, with scope to reach out to high end hospitality market, and with use of a vast variety of materials, including, metal works, upholstery and Corian solid surface fabrications. From office to site, we apply the same professional practices, whether the project is small store furniture fit-out or a complete ?CAT B? joinery fit-out.

N.B. Construction Sites and contracts continue, in line with the latest government?s guidance and with extra precautionary measures in place to prevent the transmission of the virus.

Salary: £26,910 - £35,880 - Negotiable dependent on experience.

Basic Hours: 6am- 6pm Monday to Friday, working one weekend per month (where necessary).

Overtime Rate: Mon-Fri -Time + 1/3, Sat - Time + ½, Sun - Double Time.

Stay Away Rate: £50 per day + £35 per day food allowance (overnight allowance)

Location: 90% of our work based in London, though will have the opportunity to travel to work nationally at the expense of the company.

Local person preferred - within 25miles of Milton Keynes

The Successful Candidate:

An enthusiastic individual with a keen eye for detail, and good work ethic. Able to follow instructions to assist a lead fitter.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the installation of structures and fixtures; bespoke and diverse.
  • Measure, cut and shape wood, and other materials.
  • Construct building frameworks, including partitions.
  • Build and secure joinery items; including Reception Desks, Tea points, Vanity Units, Hanging Features, Feature Walls, Store Walls, Seating Booths, Banquette Seating and more.
  • Load and unload items with caution and care.
  • Deliver and install items at site location, with due care, and to company standards.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with the requirements of Health and Safety, COSHH and other relevant legislations alike.
  • Follow site policies and procedures, in relation to site access, storage and facilities to meet the needs of client.
  • Provide professional service to clients on behalf of the Company, with self-awareness and personal conduct.

Skills & Attributes:

  • Punctual, Reliable and has a Positive Can-do attitude.
  • Willingness to learn and to assist where needs be.
  • Familiar with reading technical CAD drawings.
  • Good level of English, with ability to communicate effectively.
  • Able to follow instructions as well as use your own initiative.

Requirements:

  • 2yrs+ experience in Carpentry/Joinery
  • Previous construction site experience (desirable)
  • CSCS Green/Blue
  • Holds a full UK Driving License
  • Full set of hand tools; including chisel, block plane & electric drill.

COVID-19 considerations:
All operatives are provided with PPE and are briefed daily on induction at each job. Operatives are required to wear PPE provided when travelling together in a vehicle. Construction sites are monitored and report to us with updates.

Experience:

  • Construction Site: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Joinery Fitting/Carpentry : 2 years (Required)

Licence:

  • CSCS Green/Blue (wood occupations) (Required)
  • Full clean Driving licence (Required)
