As the Engineering Director you will lead a multi-disciplinary engineering team in charge of delivering to the Group modular, mobile and re-usable core products for power generation and temperature control, with a particular emphasis on supporting Aggreko?s strategy to become a leader in the energy transition.

What we are looking for:

  • Sound engineering experience, can point to a track record of technology and product innovation at the edge of technology and market developments, including digital solutions.
  • Excellent knowledge and expertise of the international energy sector, its ongoing transformation and most current market and technology trends.
  • Experienced leader who has grown into progressively higher managerial responsibilities and has led units of 50+ FTE.
  • Is well acquainted with leading in complex international corporate matrix organizations.
  • Successful change manager, has ideally driven and executed change programs, including processes. Has implemented successfully new processes and development methodologies with a focus on hardware development.
  • Approachable leader, enjoys mentoring others, develops feedback-oriented team cultures. Transparent in his/her reporting in all directions.
  • Non bureaucratic and pragmatic approach, able to operate within existing process frameworks with the ability and drive to change them.
  • Hands on implementer, somebody who delivers and gets things done, comfortable in a dynamic, high growth and evolving environment.
  • Ability to think in new, creative, and innovative ways to address business challenges and improve performance.
  • Dynamic, proactive, and decisive - ability to work across different business and technical functions at a senior level.
  • Has the ability to drive change, be an advocate for new ideas and ways of doing things. Ability to influence multiple stakeholders and to lead and define change.
  • Professional managerial and leadership skills combined with excellent business judgment and the ability to plan and meet deadlines.
  • High level of intrinsic motivation and drive, resilience, and assertiveness. Self-confident and able to overcome internal and external resistance.
  • International and one team mind-set and culturally sensitivity.

Desired Skills

  • Master?s degree in Engineering.
  • Demonstrated practice and experience of design-to-cost and design-for-manufacture principles
  • Demonstrated practice of applying systems engineering principles to rigorously design and develop products that meet well defined requirements
  • Knowledge of international product certification standards such as IEC, UL, etc. and a clear understanding of what?s required to achieve them
  • Confident and self-aware leader with strong senior leadership communication and influencing skills, both written and verbal. Outstanding presence and ability to communicate value proposition at C-level of large (global) suppliers and customers.
  • Excellent oral and written communications skills.
  • Strong intellect. A quick thinker who can hold his/her own in the company of thought-leaders and other high-performance professionals.
  • Analytical. Ability to quickly assimilate and synthesize complex data and information into a fact-based decision-making framework.
  • A strong decision maker, able to make good decisions in a proactive and timely fashion, through sharp analysis.
  • Exudes confidence and leverages positive attitude to build can-do spirit across organization for improved performance.
  • Passionate team player, willing to share efforts and results with others to achieve the common goal.
  • Fully fluent in English. German language skills would be an additional asset but are not required.

Key responsibilities

  • Responsible for leading and managing a team that delivers scalable and reusable products.
  • Responsible for ensuring our resources are continually developed to safeguard the right expertise.
  • Defines product engineering standards/conditions and governance (including auditing) for all the technical aspects of Aggreko?s products.
  • Lead, consolidate, integrate, and further develop Aggreko?s central global engineering function.
  • Drive transformation towards an integrated products, services, and solutions business.
  • Lead the development of new products, services, and solutions.
  • Stay on top of technology trends and developments.
  • Ensure all technology practices adhere to regulatory standards.
  • Rigorously manage KPIs, budgets and time frames.
  • Lead and regularly report on the development of the product and technical roadmap including measures of performance.
  • Create and champion a culture of cutting-edge lean product delivery techniques that will motivate, develop, and grow the team to continually innovate and create modern practices and frameworks that are unique to the organization.
  • Manager stakeholders to ensure strong engagement of product development enhancements and to gain feedback to inform necessary improvements and adjustments to technology.
