The HR business partner is an agent of change in the department and the business at large. Working across all aspect of the function?s remit, the HR business partner is responsible for the implementation and success of the HR policies and initiatives and can successfully balance employee needs with the business objectives.


  • Provide support and direction to employees and supervisors in respective business areas to allow the business to best utilise its employees contributions to the business. Specifically, this will be in the areas of recruitment, talent development, performance management, pay & benefits, and employee relations issues.

  • Provide advice and guidance on matters such as policy interpretation and application, employment law, employee relations, organisational design, performance issues, leadership, management practices and information on the use of relevant support service providers.
  • Participate in the development and improvement of people related practices, processes and policies in order to maximise operational effectiveness.
  • Take ownership for assigned projects and work towards achieving HR Business Plan goals for the year

  • Coach and mentor team members and line managers

  • Support and work closely with the other members of the HR team.


  • Strong generalist HR experience

  • Degree qualified in Business/HR or related qualification

  • CIPD or specific Human Resources accreditation
  • Oil & Gas HR experience dealing with an offshore workforce

  • Ability to communicate effectively with a wide variety of people
  • Ability to multitask prioritise and ensuring that all deadlines are met

  • Demonstrable ability to challenge in a constructive manner

  • Have a pro-active approach
  • Ability to establish and develop excellent client relationships (internal and external) to promote trust and confidence.
