Your part in our journey:
Reporting to the Senior Credit Risk & Payments Manager, you will be operating in the role of Credit Risk Strategy Decisioning Manager. This pivotal role will ensure that Shell Energy make the correct credit risk and collections strategy changes, which optimise our performance against a range of KPI?s.

In this role, you will be responsible for making credit strategy changes from the point of acquisition, in addition to developing collections strategies in conjunction with the collections teams, taking ownership of the customer journey throughout the different lifecycle stages.

You will support the business in a number of projects, to optimise our acquisition and bad debt performance. Whilst ensuring that the Customer Journey is at the heart of what we do, to drive the appropriate processes and customer experience, aligning to the risk controls of the business. This is an exciting and challenging role, within a fast paced and evolving business.

Your part in the team:
The Credit Risk and Payments Team consists of 9 members, including a Credit Risk Manager, an Underwriting Team, a Payments Manager with a number of Analysts.

We monitor and control the credit risk profile of the business. Identifying and reporting on key portfolio credit risk issues, following up with investigations, providing options and making operational or strategy recommendations across the business. Solving complex business problems using data analysis and operational review, to provide practical based solutions.

We work closely together with a wide variety of stakeholders and other areas of business, maintaining a good working relationship, to ensure that our strategies align with other key business areas, whilst maintaining a focus on the customer journey. We develop and implement appropriate risk based policies, strategies, models and control reporting. Including the benefits tracking and reporting of any strategy changes.

What you?ll need to help you make the best of the role:
You will have experience and in depth knowledge of the Credit Acquisition and/or Collections journey. Having experience of making strategy changes using a decision engine, ideally Experian Powercurve or a similar decision engine experience.

Experience and proven ability to analyse complex data and operational issues. Being able to identify trends using credit bureau and internal data, to summarise the key findings and make recommendations in a clear and concise manager.

Ability to create and maintain a log of the Credit Risk or Collection Strategy changes made, monitoring their performance, and recommending ongoing improvements for a wide range of key performance indicators.

Experience of working within a Credit Risk or Collections Department, and being familiar with analysing credit bureau data.

Ability to drive operational efficiencies and achieve strategic goals, becoming a subject matter expert across credit and risk.

Ability to work under pressure, being able to multitask, being able to prioritise your work and deliver against deadlines in a fast paced environment.

Ability to work independently and proactively.

An individual who is proactive, and will go out of their way to find improvements within the business.

Having a positive mindset, you will communicate professionally across the business, and make an effective contribution to team tasks and team spirit.

Ability to build and maintain strong internal relationships across the business, and support other functions within the risk management team.

The nice to haves:
Previous experience and knowledge of the energy and telecoms industries would be beneficial.

Previous analytical experience, ideally using SQL. Experience of working with Acquisition models, Collections Managers, Debt Management and Debt Recovery is a nice to have.
