Residential Support Worker Full Time

We have a great opportunity for experienced Residential Support Workers to work with children and young people living in Birmingham.

As a Residential Support Worker, you will be working with children aged 7 -18 years old with emotional behaviour difficulties.

You will be working alongside the Registered Manager ensuring the young people receive the highest standard of support/care appropriate to their individual needs.

You will be offered high levels of continuous training, support, guidance, and an individual development plan for employees who are looking for fast track career progression.

Main Responsibilities for a Residential Support Worker

· Being ambitious for young people, helping them achieve their goals and engagement.

· Build and develop relationships with those in your care and encourage them to participate fully in the opportunities offered within the home.

· Build strong working relationships with external agencies such as Local Authorities and other Health/Social Care professionals

· Conduct formal key work sessions with young people and produce reports for each session

· Be responsible for the effective Safeguarding of the young people within your care and understand how to raise any concerns

· Support our young people with everyday day tasks such as cooking, cleaning, medical appointments, meetings etc.

Shift patterns:

· You will participate in the planning of a working rota which will include evenings, sleep-ins and weekends. Shifts can be subject to rota change to meet the needs of the home.

· Day shifts are between 7:30 am ? 23:00 pm

· You will be required to work 6-8 sleep-ins per month.

Requirements of a Residential Support Worker

· Experience of working within a residential environment

· Diploma in Level 3 in Children and Young People Workforce

· Experience of working with young people that have social, emotional and/or behavioural difficulties (desirable)

· Full driving license with access to own transport

· Ability to work shifts and sleep-ins
