    About the Role

    We help clients solve complex cybersecurity challenges. Our clients include some of the world's biggest brands, who we advise about some of their most sensitive cybersecurity challenges. Discretion and confidentiality are central to how FTI operates.

Our engagements typically draw on expertise from across our business and geographies.

    After a period of extensive growth, FTI is looking to build out its EMEA Cybersecurity practice. We have a phased three-year plan to attract and develop the right talent to be part of this journey. We are at the start of this journey, and we are looking for individuals comfortable within a "start-up" environment, within the security of an established corporate setting.

    About the Role
  • You will perform a wide-range of cybersecurity engagements in dynamic, fast-paced, and time-sensitive environments.
  • You will coach and mentor junior members of the team in order to upskill them and ably grow the team.
  • You will perform specific cybersecurity consultancy work to assist high-profile clients understand the cybersecurity risks and opportunities they face and be able to provide objective advice to remediate issues.
  • You will perform specific technical tasks to help triage breaches, analyze data quickly and to be able to understand underlying causes and issues.
  • You will be able analyze data and solve problems in order to provide actionable answers and be able to support your decision-making processes with evidence and a level of insight, experience and confidence.
  • You will work as part of multi-functional teams to help clients manage and improve their cybersecurity maturity considering the operational, reputational and regulatory demands upon the client.
  • You will support and develop your skills around cyber incident response and investigations, developing both your technical and written skills to provide accurate and concise reports for a sophisticated client base of top-tier law firms, financial institutions and corporations.
  • You will maintain, or develop, current knowledge of cybersecurity industry trends, threats, methodologies and core technologies in order to assimilate client needs and help decide appropriate courses of action.
  • You will be able to participate in assessments of threats, risks and vulnerabilities, applying a combination of adaptable technical skills and critical thinking.
  • You will help improve how we work, by identifying areas for improvement and making suggestions to expand our portfolio of services or improve our efficiency and effectiveness of delivery.
  • You will be agile and adaptive to the client requirements, including geographies, timelines and external demands on the client.

We will work with you to develop a career path within the FTI EMEA Cybersecurity team so you there is a clear progression path, coupled with the right level of support and guidance in order to achieve the next step in your career at FTI.
    Qualifications and Experience
    As a Senior Consultant, you will already have some life experience and preferably with some variety. You will likely have one (or more) of the following:

    1. A strong degree from a top university with perhaps some work experience in research and analysis (such as working in professional services, corporate intelligence, law, academic research, market analysis or similar). Note, we are open to a degree in any subject so long as clear research and academic skills are demonstrated. We can help develop your technical skills and experience.

    2. Demonstrable cybersecurity consulting skills showcasing complex problem solving either individually or as part of a team, excellent verbal and written communication, adjusting accordingly for the audience, whilst still delivering value at every level. You will be inquisitive and keen to remain current and engaged with the ever-evolving cybersecurity threat landscape. You will have experience in delivering high-quality cybersecurity engagements to clients engaging collaboratively with colleagues and clients.

    3. At least two years' experience as cybersecurity consultant in either a Big-4 or specialist cyber consultancy. You will have undertaken several engagements across cyber maturity reviews, creating operating models, third party assurance and calculating risks, all informing the client of how to manage or improve their security posture. You may have relevant specific cybersecurity certifications (e.g. Certificate in Information Security Management Principles [CISMP], Certified Information Systems Auditor [CISA], Certified Information Security Manager [CISM], Certified in Risk and Information Systems Control [CRISC], and Certified Information Privacy Professional [CIPPE]. You will also have knowledge of cybersecurity frameworks and regulations including, but not limited to: NIST; CIS; COBIT, ISO, and GDPR.

    4. Work experience as an incident responder or tec hnical investigator at another leading brand corporate intelligence, cyber security or forensics companies, or within the services (military, law enforcement or government). You may have worked under legal privilege or will be familiar with the concept. You may have specific cyber certifications (e.g. OSCP/E, GIACs, CREST), and might also be on a professional development program (e.g. CIISec, BCS, IEEE, GCHQ or NICE accredited cyber program).

    5. Demonstrable technical work experience, a versatility and level of comfort across multiple technologies, and demonstrable problem-solving skills. You may have worked in systems administration, networking or application development. You will be comfortable scripting in multiple languages (eg Python, UNIX, DOS, PowerShell, R), and to be able to show how you bring these skills to solve problems you have not seen before.
  • Aptitude: you will have a natural curiosity and desire to learn. You will show passion for specific areas related to cybersecurity and be able demonstrate wider thinking and well-informed understanding about them. You may have published articles, have your own development project or simply follow specific topics within choice media. You will show the latent ingredients of being able to grow into an expert in your journey with FTI.
  • Critical thinking: you will be able to demonstrate the difference between technical and business success. You can make an informed, fact-based and objective analysis of an issue to come to a judgement. You can operate with a level of ambiguity and make logical assumptions when dealing with unknowns. You will be able to outline premises and a hypothesis and construct objective arguments to support and disprove before concluding.
  • Dynamism: you will be a self-starter who can work on varied assignments often within tight timeframes. You will be comfortable in raising concerns or questions on a task in an efficient manner, and to be able to reach out for guidance when you feel uncertain. You will enjoy being given context, boundaries and an objective, and will take professional pride in delivering. You will relish the opportunities provided to you within an agile environment. You will suggest improvements or solutions where you think things could be done better.
  • Communications: you can communicate clearly, concisely and with understanding of your intended audience. You will understand the value and importance of written products. You will feel comfortable raising questions when you are uncertain. You may have experience working internationally, and with other teams that are not immediately part of yours.
  • Collaboration: you will recognize that the greatest success is mutual. You will show self-awareness about how you best operate, and the ability to reflect on how others like to. You will be able to demonstrate an emotional intelligence to be able to adapt, personal resilience, and a strong team ethos within FTI's relatively "flat" hierarchy.
  • Professionalism: you will be the consummate professional and the brand ambassador of FTI and the Global Cybersecurity team. You will have the utmost discretion when dealing with our clients at every stage.
