One of the largest and most successful games studios in the UK are looking for a Vehicle Artist for their next big free-to-play PC title. Does that sound like you?
In this role, you will help to develop and manage the creation of vehicles for a new and exciting project which is aimed at a western audience. The perfect candidate will work closely with the Lead Vehicle Artist and Art Director to help design the appearance and style of the vehicles within the game.
In this position you will be working within a multidisciplinary team of developers, in a global community, and will have the ability to both share your hard-earned knowledge and continue to develop your own skill set by learning from your talented teammates.
They are looking for someone with a good sense of humour, who can integrate themselves seamlessly into their team and studio culture. If you've got a solid singing voice, sweet dance moves, and an ability to turn anything into a pun, this will all, strangely, stand you in good stead.
Your day-to-day will include:
  • Create imaginative and innovative 3D vehicles

  • Translate concept and reference artwork into 3D game assets as required, setting a high-quality bar

  • Help design, construct, document and implement pipeline procedures

  • Prototype new techniques and processes

  • Create high-poly and low-poly models and accompanying texture sets that use advanced shaders

  • Help support off-site development partners

  • Collaborate with the Art Director to deliver innovation and drive quality

The skills and XP you'll need to succeed in this position:
  • 2+ years production art experience in the games industry

  • At least 2 published games in your back catalogue

  • Proven ability to create exceptional stylised and realistic character models

  • Outstanding skill in a digital sculpting packages (Z-Brush)

  • Fantastic knowledge of 3ds Max

  • High level expertise in Substance Painter

  • Significant Unreal Engine 4 knowledge with at least one released title

  • A great eye for detail with natural flair and a strong understanding of composition and colour theory

  • Able to both take critique and give feedback internally and externally in a professional manner

  • Diligent self-management around both individual and team tasks, schedule and budgets

  • Strong organisational skills with adherence to optimisation and asset management
