One of the largest and most successful games studios in the UK are looking for a Senior Environment Artist for their next big free-to-play PC title!
In this role, you will help to develop and manage the creation of landscapes for a new and exciting project which is aimed at a western audience. As the perfect candidate, you will work closely with the Lead Artist and Art Director to help design the appearance of stunning 3D worlds within the game.
In this position, you will be working within a multidisciplinary team of developers, in a global community, and will have the ability to both share your hard-earned knowledge and continue to develop your own skill set by learning from your talented teammates.
They are looking for someone with a good sense of humour who can integrate themselves seamlessly into their team & studio culture. You wouldn't think so, but a solid singing voice, sweet dance moves, and an ability to turn anything into a pun will all stand you in good stead.
Your day-to-day will include:
  • Create stunning 3D worlds

  • Translate concept and reference artwork into 3D game assets as required, setting a high-quality bar

  • Help design, construct, document and implement pipeline procedures

  • Prototype new techniques and processes

  • Create high-poly and low-poly models and accompanying texture sets that use advanced shaders

  • Help support off-site development partners

  • Collaborate with the Art Director to deliver innovation and drive quality

  • Assist the Art Manager in planning within this discipline

The skills and XP you should already have to succeed in this role:
  • 5+ years production art experience in the games industry

  • At least 3 published games

  • Proven ability to create exceptional stylised and realistic worlds

  • Outstanding skill in a digital sculpting package i.e. Z-Brush

  • Fantastic knowledge of 3ds Max

  • High level of expertise in Substance Painter

  • Unreal Engine 4 experience with at least one released title

  • A great eye for detail and a strong understanding of composition and colour theory

  • Able to both take critique and give feedback

  • Diligent self-management around individual and team tasks, scheduling and budgets

  • Strong organisational skills with adherence to optimisation and asset management
