The Intellectual Property (IP) Protection program focuses on evaluating our client, Facebook?s confidential internal initiatives and security posture for development projects. The Intellectual Property Strategy Manager, by further evaluating these areas, we can better understand which variables we can manage, the risks identified, and which require security integration. From the point of conception to down cycling, the IP Protection team works daily to protect projects and support development teams to keep confidential projects moving forward.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Develop a deep understanding of the global business and build strategic relationships with cross functional partners (XFN) to define and integrate security into programs and project roadmaps
  • Interpret the customer?s vision, balancing security needs/requirements in order to facilitate the necessary and appropriate IP protection services while enabling the speed of the business
  • Lead any potential development of and conduct intellectual property risk assessments relating to physical security and secure processes on various projects, products and other areas of concern
  • Compile and present the results of these assessments by developing, documenting and communicating associated risk mitigation plans, working both with the external customer and internally with a broad cross functional security team
  • Provide subject matter expertise to all stakeholders involved throughout the planning, execution, and maintenance phases of Intellectual Property Protection
  • Manage a team of global professionals ensuring the team?s strategy, vision, and culture is carried out across all IP Protection domains
  • Represent yourself as a responsible steward for Global Security

The ideal candidate will possess the following characteristics:

  • B.A. preferred with 5+ years of relevant experience or 8 years of relevant experience
  • Experience with working in an international environment and amongst various business cultures
  • Project Management Professional Certification and/or experience Managing projects
  • Experience and knowledge of CTPAT, AEO, TAPA and other industry and/or government security programs
  • Experience with vendor management
  • Knowledge of data collection processes & procedures
  • Strong background conducting investigations related to Intellectual Property, physical security with tech integration and logistics planning
  • Able to write clearly and succinctly in technical and non-technical formats
  • Demonstrates courage with difficult issues despite personal risk or discomfort
  • Demonstrated analytic and critical thinking skills that drive results
  • Must be able to work nights, weekends and holidays and to handle on-call responsibilities
  • Ability to travel (including internationally) with little notice to accomplish assignments and responsibilities
