Pharmacy Technician Full Time

Band 4 Rotational Pharmacy Technician post
37.5 hours per week - Monday - Friday plus Weekend Rota approx 1:6
We are looking for a registered Pharmacy Technician to rotate between core services working in the following areas: Dispensary, Ward Services & Medicines distribution & the Beacon production unit preparing chemotherapy . Prior experience of working in an aseptic unit is desirable but full training will be provided for the successful candidate which will include practical training along with completion of relevant NVQ unit which is a requirement of the post.



Duties include:



Dispensing for In-patients, Out-patients and assisting with Home care services, Supply of Controlled drugs to wards, Ward visits to undertake Medicines Management / Medicines supply services, and aseptic preparation of Chemotherapy treatments in the Beacon Production Unit.



Assisting with the training of Pre-Registration Pharmacy Technicians/Pre-Registration Pharmacists and Pharmacy Assistants is also a key part of the role.
The applicant should have a BTEC in Pharmaceutical Science/ NVQ level 3 or equivalent qualification which will permit registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.



We require a person who is adaptable and flexible to meet the needs of the service and will work well as part of a team or be equally effective when working alone.

The is a rotational post moving through all the services to develop experience and skills.
Participating in the weekend rota approx 1:6 working Saturday & Sunday mornings and one Bank holiday morning is a requirement of the job.
