We are looking for an enthusiastic and innovative Pharmacy Technician to join our existing Pharmacy team.

The post holder will work alongside the Senior Pharmacy Assistant in Pharmacy stores, to maintain and manage the storage of Pharmaceuticals and to lead a team of Pharmacy Assistants in providing high quality services to all wards and departments within the Trust.

The successful candidate must be self?motivated with the ability to motivate others, and be willing to work with the dispensary teams and the procurement team to help ensure continuity of supply and to ensure that a quality Pharmacy stock distribution service is provided to all areas within the Trust

You will be also be a lead person for the receipt, storage and dispensing of clinical trials, and work with the clinical trials Pharmacist to ensure that all staff are trained appropriately.

You will also be responsible for ensuring that all unused and unwanted medicines returned to Pharmacy are assessed and managed appropriately.

It is vital that applicants are adaptable and prepared to work with us to help shape the best possible Pharmacy service. Your contribution through suggestions, working groups, involvement in projects and audits will be encouraged.

The Pharmacy department has over 100 staff operating across Whiston and St Helens Hospitals.

We have established automated dispensing systems within the dispensaries at both sites, and the Trust has a long-standing reputation for being a rewarding place to work.

The Pharmacy operates a 7 day service and as part of this role you will be expected to participate in the evening and weekend rotas.

Applications are welcome from Registered Pharmacy Technicians who do not currently have a checking qualification, however the post will be paid as AfC Band 5 Annex 21, (Which equates to 75% of the top of the band 5 pay scale) until such time that the checking qualification is successfully completed.
