Salvation Army Trading Company Ltd (SATCoL) is the trading arm of The Salvation Army in the UK and Republic of Ireland. We were established in 1991 to help fund The Salvation Army?s vital work with vulnerable people in the UK, and today we raise money and encourage reuse and recycling through a network of over 230 charity shops, 2 Superstores, 8 Donation Centres and a rapidly expanding clothing collection division, all of which is constantly growing and developing.

With the support of the British public, we have been able to donate millions of pounds to The Salvation Army ? over £43 million has been donated in the last five years alone, helping to fund the extensive and very important work that The Salvation Army carries out? including homelessness and addiction services, care for older people, help at emergency incidents, support for adult victims of human trafficking in England and Wales and a Family Tracing Service.

The role:
We are looking for flexible, friendly and hardworking individuals to work in our new and growing warehouse in Winchester.

You will be working in the SATCoL Clothing Collections Division - this role is key to us being able to process donated clothing from our clothing banks throughout the south of England and plays a crucial part in us helping the Salvation Army in their work.

Working as part of the warehouse team you will be happy to carry out a selection of tasks from unloading vans to preparing our products for distribution to shops and bulk export. The job does involve a high degree of manual handling.

You will need to be friendly and approachable. Flexible in the hours of work and in daily activities as this is a team that will work together to provide an excellent service to our drivers and collectors.

General Duties

Unloading collectors vans

Sorting products if necessary

Lifting and bagging up clothing.

Preparing bulk clothing bags for haulage.

Work as a team to get the job done

Maintain high standards of housekeeping

Work in a way that ensures the safety of yourself and others

Potential to receive training for operating a forklift truck.

The ideal candidate will have:
Good team work skills

Reliable and trustworthy

Hands-on commitment to getting the job done

Good verbal English skills

Ability to work flexibly

Manual handling experience
