HuddersfieldPermanent£17,000 - £18,000 a yearMy client is a Financial Services organisation is looking to take on an Accounts Administrator within their Shareholder Solutions area of the business.


Reporting to the Team Leader, you will be part of a busy, operational team, carrying out duties relating to legal, dividend and correspondence work within the Registration Services area.

What being an Accounts Administrator involves:

  • HMRC returns - Running reports, reconciling figures and carrying out returns to HMRC
  • Monitoring bank account balances
  • Accuracy and excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing complete, concise, accurate administration records
  • Dealing with dividend forfeitures and bank accounts
  • Recovery letters when overpaid - good customer service and letter writing skills
  • Accurate maintenance of all shareholder information
  • Communicating via email, letter and phone with shareholders, external third party agents and internal colleagues
  • Resolving any queries as they come up or referring them to the Team Leader when appropriate
  • Assisting in the maintenance of filing and record keeping
  • Making sure work is processed efficiently and to service standards, maintaining priority order


To be considered for this role you must be able to demonstrate administrative experience, ideally gained from the financial services industry, however this isn't essential.

Other administrative experience can include any complaint handling, inbound processing, legal or banking admin.

Further required skills:

  • Maths and English GCSE grade C or above (or equivalent)
  • Must have excellent MS Excel spreadsheet knowledge - use of pivot tables, lookups etc.
  • Must be very numerate, ideally with an accounts background
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Flexible Approach
  • Confident telephone manner
  • Previous experience of reconciliations


  • Knowledge of shareholder practices
  • FCA experience and awareness
  • Investment Operations Certificate IOC Compulsory Modules (this can be obtained through the business upon completion of your probationary period
  • Company Secretarial Practice and SHARE Registration Practice ICSA certificate (CCSP)
