Contact Centre Agent (Temporary) Full Time

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a brand new Customer Service Team, based in Reigate, Surrey.

We are seeking to recruit a number of Customer Service Agents for an initial 2 month period, with the opportunity to apply for a permanent role at the end of the period.

We are looking for start dates during the weeks commencing 28th January and 4th February 2019.

Intrum is an ethical credit account purchaser. We purchase a variety of credit accounts from lenders and seek to understand why customer relationships have broken down. We then gather information from the customer about their financial circumstances before setting up new payment plans based solely on what they can afford. We charge no interest or fees and consider all customer circumstances in order to provide the best outcome.

As a Customer Service Agent:

  • You will be at the forefront of our business, operating via telephone to contact our customers

  • You will mainly be responsible for undertaking data protection checks and transferring customers to our main Collections Team

  • You will also be responsible for updating new contact details on our systems and removing incorrect numbers

  • You will also be required to leave detailed voicemail messages where needed or leaving messages with 3rd parties

  • Customer service is at the heart of this role - you will need to be able to understand specific customer requirements and respond effectively

  • This role requires great listening skills, empathy and telephone manner

The working pattern for this role is 09:00 - 17:30 Monday to Friday.

Please note that you will be subject to a credit check and a criminal records check as part of our pre-employment checks process. You should not have more than one registered default, be bankrupt or have any active County Court Judgements on your credit file.

The role is offering £9.00 per hour, with an additional bonus of £500 payable at the end of the 2-month temporary contract!

Essential Skills

  • The ideal candidate will have a desire to make a conscious effort to assist and engage customers, through high levels of empathy and understanding

  • Ability to build rapport and engage in communication with any audience

  • Communicating logically and using language to fit the audience

Desired Skills

  • Previous experience working in a customer service environment such as retail, call centres, hospitality etc
