Personal Assistant Full Time

at MonihanPAs in Aberdeen (Published at 09-12-2018)

£10.20 an hour
Part-time

I'm leaving Edinburgh between 4-6 January to live in Aberdeen as a student on Elphistone Road so I just need someone to assist me. Looking for a Personal Assistant for personal and leisure care, a woman is required and the potential hours total 31.5 per week but this can be split between many students and morning shifts 7am-9am before lectures are available. £10.20.

Facilitate with personal, domestic and leisure care, accompany outside if required. I'm interested in medical people, students, grads or council carers.

Aim

The aim of the job is to make me happy each day and provide personal assistance required by myself, the employer, a disabled woman, and this Personal Assistant must be female or a male medical student or grad. I employ a PA to help me live my life in the way I can so choose, and the tasks will be around personal care, social activities and leisure time e.g. with helping me read paperback books by turning the pages for me. You facilitate my needs and wants through my requests, some taken as automatic repeats. You are required to know or learn personal care, my personal care, by listening to me myself. Assistance with rehab, to walk and with maintenance of wheelchair is necessary, as best you can, as is fixing things as best you can e.g. technology and gadgets, although I can instruct. Experience as a carer/PA/nurse/medic is not required but is noted. You should be able to take me swimming, but if not, it's ok. You must be able to cook, read food instructions and embrace the medical and health values.

You should not worry about not knowing disability because it is not the concept that matters but the person and spirit that sculpts or strictures the brain because the unknown parts are not accessed by yourself, but you need to know that even though I'm disabled, I still own my body. However, do not hesitate to look after me by proactively doing tasks like ironing if clothes are sat there in the carers bedroom because I don't like instructing people just for authority. Also, help me get to know my neighbours because I have a speech problem and stutter, which will soon go away. Confidentiality is required. The post is rewarding and easy, and existing is a professional relationship, so you will probably want to know me more.

So, the job involves assisting me with a variety of tasks, sometimes without supervision because I like assumed implementation. I could being doing anything, but normally it's mundane but never boring, so keep in mind that any other relative tasks. Please respect my wishes at all times, including when you are delivering assistance yourself (ironing, cooking, cleaning, shopping if sent etc).

The job will sometimes involve moving and assisting me with transfers e.g. from the wheelchair onto the bed nonetheless, using a stand aid (Sam-Hall Turner) which helps me stand if I'm tired, but normally for transfers I just use grab rails and manage to stand without support. You don't have to be strong to do the job well but general good health is important.
