About the role

This is a newly created role to lead our newly created Acquisition Marketing team. With a Digital Marketing Manager reporting into you, you will be responsible for managing all paid acquisition channels including TV, Inserts, Press, Radio & Direct Mail, with the opportunity to drive further growth with increased optimisation and testing programmes to improve existing channels and well as exploring and unlocking new ones.

The successful marketing manager will require a good understanding of offline direct response media and how to deploy each channel to best effect to successfully engage and acquire new customers. An in-depth understanding of online channels is desirable, but not required.

What You’ll Be Responsible For...

  • Develop and deliver an overall acquisition strategy (both online and offline).

  • Support the development of forecasts and budgets

  • Drive and accelerate performance across channels; scaling reach and conversion rates through an obsessive focus on utilising data/insights and testing.

  • Line-managing the Digital Marketing Manager, supporting his development, helping him to add increasing value to the team

  • Manage and nurture day-to-day relationships with media owners, and other third-party partners and agencies

  • Own regular reporting to the Leadership team, and the wider business


  • Proven knowledge through similar previous roles

  • Has managed and optimised a selection of TV, inserts, direct mail and door drops

  • Commercially minded and highly numerate

  • Has worked in fast-growth subscription or e-commerce business

  • Strong people management and relationship skills

  • Organised, good attention to detail, and strong oral and written communication skills

  • Digital acquisition experience/understanding a bonus

  • Ambition to build a high-performing function
