Community Fundraising Team Assistant Full Time

at Willow in Welwyn Garden City (Published at 13-06-2018)

Reporting to: Community Fundraiser

Hours: 18 hours per week, days and start/finish times to be agreed

Salary: £8,880 which is pro-rata of £19,500 full-time equivalent

Job purpose

  • To provide administration and support to the Community Fundraising Team (Community and Volunteering).
  • Assist with fundraising events and activities within the Community Team.

Key responsibilities

  • To assist the Community Team by booking talks and events at local community groups, schools. Colleges and councils.
  • To work with the Community Team to book volunteers to help deliver talks and run events on our behalf and to ensure they have all the equipment required.
  • General administrative duties such as answering telephone calls, note taking at meetings, mailing fundraising packs etc.
  • Researching Community prospects such as Community Groups, Golf Clubs, Schools and Colleges, local businesses
  • Supporting the team to set up and administer Community Corporate Fundraising Events such as Charity Golf Days and Football Matches
  • Using our Database Raisers Edge to create or update constituent records to reflect fundraising activity including registrations for participants of Willow Challenge events
  • To maintain the on-going accuracy of donor records on Raiser’s Edge.
  • To support the incoming donation process to ensure donations are allocated and recorded correctly for the team.
  • To be responsible for thanking donations received by the Community Fundraising team, sending letters and certificates within a specified time frame
  • To support with the organisation and promotion of events as required such as the Willow 10K, Herts 100 and Carol Concert.
  • To keep a stock check of all fundraising materials and re-order when required
  • To assist with the recruitment of volunteers for all Willow events
  • To keep up to date with current competitor activity in relevant channels and sector specific learning
  • To keep up to date and comply with fundraising, data protection and other relevant legislation and codes of practice and good standards.
  • To undertake any other tasks reasonably required.

Person Specification

Qualifications, knowledge and experience

  • Educated to A level or equivalent
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills and the ability to prioritise own workload and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent computer skills and working experience of Microsoft preferred.
  • Experience of working with fundraising databases ideally RE – desired.
  • Experience in office practice, systems and processes – desired.
  • The ability to manage a wide range of activities, prioritise own workload and meet deadlines.
  • Good project management and planning skills.

  • Willing to work flexibly, including evenings and weekends, as required in order to delivering Community Fundraising initiatives

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
