Status: Permanent

Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week

Based at our Head Office in Leatherhead, Surrey, KT22 0BX

Combat Stress was established in 1919. We are the UK’s leading charity for veterans’ mental health. For almost a century, we’ve helped former servicemen and women deal with trauma-related mental health conditions like post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety and depression.

Today we provide UK-wide support to veterans from every service and every conflict, on the phone and online, in the community and at our treatment centres. We’re on a mission to raise awareness that invisible injuries can be just as hard to cope with as physical ones. So when a veteran is having a tough time, we’re there to help tackle the past and to take on the future.

This is an exciting time to join Combat Stress as the charity implements a new five-year strategic plan. We anticipate new opportunities to secure grants from trusts and foundations and to work with existing partners to develop key relationships. As such, an opportunity has arisen in our growing Trusts and Foundations team for the new post of Trusts and Foundations Assistant.

Working in an upbeat and dynamic fundraising department, you will report to the Trusts and Foundations Manager and contribute towards one of the charity’s most successful income streams. In addition to providing administrative support to the Trusts and Foundations team, you will look to develop your own portfolio of trusts and foundations, and help to identify new funding opportunities.

You must be able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and an exceptional eye for detail. Some charity experience would be beneficial, however this would be an ideal entry level role for someone wanting to develop a career in the charity sector. An affinity with the work of Combat Stress would be helpful in securing this role.
